IMEI number invalid for Motorola phone

I have been using my Motorola handset from past 3years. Suddenly I get a message from Idea Cellular that my IMEI number is invalid. This is just insane. I talked to customer care of Idea they are useless. I am sure Motorola can not sell something illegal. The Idea has just invalid IMEI number database. To whom I should send this case. This customer service has to improve.
