Selling of Substandard Chinese make Appliance

I Purchased a INALSA FOOD PROCESSOR from M/s. Satyam Electrical Appliances, G 6, Sector 18, NOIDA - 201 301. Vide bill No: 000001 dated 01/04. The appliance started giving trouble frequently within a year of purchase., On casual enquiry with the service engineer who came to set right the appliance, I come to understand that the appliance supplied to me was a Chinese made equipment.

I would like know from your good self that:- (1) Is it not mandatory for the Manufacturer to inform a customer that the equipment supplied is Chinese Make? (Especially when the same Manufacturer is supplyinig Indian make Appliance also).

(2) Isn't there any protection for a Customer like me, when a Shop keeper sells such Chinese items under the banner of Companies like INALSA? and also not informing the custormer that the product is of a chinese make as an indian made product is also available?
