I booked a ticket from Hyderabad to Chennai on 25-Oct by Indian Airlines (now they merged with Air India) and a connecting flight to Trichy from there by Paramount travels. I had 1 hours 45 mins transit time in Chennai. I got a call around 2.30 am in the morning saying flight supposed to depart at 6.30 am is delayed by 3 hours. At that time of the hour I tried calling Paramount to cancel my ticket and nobody is picking up because non-working hours. So I went to Airport anyway hoping I could get onto some other airlines. India Airlines staff at airport is horrible. They dont talk and they don't listen. They look at passengers as though the passengers are masquitos. When I asked to be reassigned to some other flight, the lady did not respond at all, instead she started talking to her colleague in Hindi. It is outrageous. Then somehow I checked in and wanted to cancel Paramount ticket, but could not find anybody in the counter. After half an hour or so somebody came and they dont have any courtesy for asking why I am waiting at their counter. They simply looked at me and ignored. I had to call that person more than thrice to have the ticket cancelled. Then the indian airlines saga starts.. Initially it was 6.30 am departure, then 9.30am, then 11.30 am, then 12.15 pm and then 12.30 pm. During this time no Indian Airlines staff was there at the counter, they don't have any courtesy to explain the delay and not dare enough (may be dont care much) to come to the gate and face passengers. When all the passengers made a big show there they said flight that supposed to come from Dubai was delayed and that is supposed to take passengers from Hyderabad to Chennai. After further struggle/delay they said Dubai flight is cancelled and a flight is on the way from Chennai which will take passengers back to Chennai from Hyderabad. But then this was also not true, finally after passengers started making big noises then they said crew wasn't there hence could not take the flight. In reality it was crew issue that delayed and a flight was sitting idle in Hyderabad airport starting 5.30 am. Due to this irresponsible behaviour of Indian Airlnes staff couple of passengers who are supposed catch Singapore flight got delayed. Around 20 or so families missed their connecting flights, lost money because of cancellation and on top of all these it was Diwali time, and all these families had to travel domestically in buses/trains without a reservation. For me it took almost a day to reach my destination Nagapattinam. And the travel was horrible because of lot of people traveling during diwali and we did not have any reservation. Many families had to miss their diwali celebrations because of recklessness of indian airlines staff. Indian Airlines should be completely closed down and all these employees from top to bottom fired instead of merging with Air-India. This airline consists of liars, lazy and ignorant staff, again, this airline should be closed down and all employees fired for their mistakes. AND government should make sure indian airlines employees should travel only through the same horrible airlines all the time, hence showing how it feels to be treated like they treat passengers.
