Dear sir
I, PS Rawat along with my five family membrs (total 06 members) had booked flight ticketes from Chennai to Port Blair on 17 Nov 09 by IC 549 and return flight tickets from Port Blair to Chennai on 17 Nov 09 by IC 510. The details are as follows:-
PNR No: RHST3C /IC
Ticket Nos : 058 2302 368 689 to 694
Date of Journey : 17 Nov 09
Flight No: IC 550
The flight was cancelled on 17 Nov 09 after boarding the plane due to tachnical fault. The Indian Airlines authority at Port Blair did not take the responsibility of my accommodation and food till next flight and it was told to me that we will give you a compensation of only Rs 500/- per passanger. However, I paid Rs 500/- per passanger for only accommodation for which I had submited a hotel bill. No compensation for lunch and dinner on 17 Nov 09 was given to me where as I had spent Rs 1800/- for Lunch and dinner and Rs 600/- towards conveyance for to and fro from air port. Beside this expenditure, my train tickets of 17 Nov 09 from Chennai to Ernakumam was also cancelled.
2. May I submit that I the matter was discussed with duty staff of airlins at Port Blair, however, they expressed inability to resolve the issue and suggested to take up the case with higherr authority of Indian Airlines. My graviences of not providing food and shelter to my family after cancellation of flight on 17 Nov 09 may kindly be considered and a minimum compensation for lunch, dinner and conveyance as mentioned at para one above.
