BRIBE asked by LIU officer, for verification as I applied for New passport

Dear Sir / Madam,

Sub :- Complaint regarding Bribe asked by L.I. U (legal Intelligence Officer), Mr. R.B. Sharma

Ref :- Passport File no : - GZB – A019804 - 09

I like to bring to your kind notice that on dt. 06-05-09, Mr. R.B. Sharma (Mobile NO. 0-9412588170) has come to our house, accompanied by another person, regarding verification as I have applied for New Passport.

The above mentioned officer asked for Bribe of Rs. 1, 500.00, as he told me, he will verify and forward the same to passport office, when I refused to give the amount, he again asked to give only Rs. 1, 000.00 and he also told us that he gets from every applicant whom he goes for verification.

When I refused it completely, and asked why to give bribe, he told us that this is there fees, and without that, he will send the report incomplete, and passport will not be issued.

I just want tot ask that, being the citizen of INDIA by birth, a regular Income-Tax Payee, a member of reputed family of AGRA, having No-Criminal record / case. Then why I am being harassed by the Govt. officials.

I just want to know is this is the work procedure of Indian Govt. machinery, that without Bribe no work will be done, and that too bribe asked by (Legal Intelligence officer), the security of the country are in the hands of such corrupt persons.

Well, I request you to kindly look into the matter seriously, and take the proper action on these corrupt employes.
