Unable to see the station Names

Today I was traveling between Kodampakkam (Chennai) to Potheri by EMU train. As usual I was standing all the while but it struck me bit latter that I could see any of the station name in standing position. The compartments are heavily covered and no information system to know the station s name. If any stranger happened to visit these place in standing position he/she would obviously travel as blind folded, moreover the entry and exit doorway seems narrower than another trains. I hope you may not heavily compromise on safety of the passenger esp if any fire broke out.

Being living in 2010 and operating world class train system in Delhi why should we keep this 19th center compartments?? pl question yourself!!

Last but not least... do we have any plan to have closed door compartment travel?
