Sub: Request for speedy disposal of Passport-Regarding

I have applied for passport in Chennai passport office on November. My passport File Reference No is B046233/08 and the Registration No is S36833. After a few days the police enquiry was conducted on Dec 16. After I waited for a long time, I checked the status of my passport in Tamilnadu Passport Office website at http. Passport.tn.nic.in. I was shocked, when I saw that the status of my passport as dispatched on 25.02. but I didn’t receive that yet.

I went to Regional Passport Office in person during May at Shastri Bhavan and to enquire about my passport. The Enquiry Officer in the Passport Office told that my passport has already been dispatched on 25.02.2009 and asked me to check with Greames Road Post Office.

I went to Greames Road Speed Post Office during June and orally asked the Post Master about the details of my passport. The Post Master in Greames Road Post Office gave me the speed post Reference No. ET216347337IN and Serial No.11/41-SPCC-CH-16. I didn’t receive any reply from Greames Road Post Office after that. Again I checked with Greames Road Speed Post Office twice during June.

I sent a representation dated 12.06.2009 to the Post Master, Greames Road Post Office, Chennai, the Post Master General, Chennai, Passport Officer, Regional Passport Office, Chennai.

I had a visa interview in Sweden Embassy on 20.06.2009. Since I didn’t have my passport, I was not able to attend the interview. I received a reply dated 30.06.2009 from the Manager, Speed Post Business Office, Chennai. In his reply it was told that the case is under enquiry. I am afraid that my passport will be misused by someone and I realize that it is a threat to me and to the country as well.

So, I request you to consider this complaint to take necessary action immediately and dispose the enquiry at the earliest.
