Monetary fraud

Dear Sir :

Like large number of victims across the country, I am also cheated by India Today Book Club (Address: Competent House, F 14 Connaught Place, New Delhi 110 001. Tel: 011-23736970-78, CEO: Mr. Vivek Gour) in the name of business possibly by a group of fraud employees inside the organisation.

I would be highly obliged if your department takes necessary action against this highly popular publication house so that citizens like me are not victimized anymore in any part of the country.

Kindly find the copy of the mail sent to the organisation as per there request (sent on September 10, 09) in exact form below (copied and pasted) for necessary details :

This is in response to the interaction with ITBC customer care executive on phone no. 011-40502424 sometime back today, who requested me to contact you through this e-mail ID and a copy of my bank statement as attachment..

Kindly note the the following details :

My ITBC membership no. : ITBC08390014

My booking order : 7770045725

ITEM booked: Philips Home Theatre (DVD) with Holiday Package and a free gift.

Payment amount and mode: Rs. 7598 (Rupees Seven Thousand Five Hundred and Ninety Eight Only) by State Bank of India (Kolkata Airport Branch) account payee (No.373821) which was cleared by the bank on September 01.

I am puzzled and sad to see the name of India Today turnished by a few fraud insiders who do not even bother to change the amount of an Account Payee Cheque which is supposed to be well documented at each level.

It may be mentioned here that on two previous occasion I was notified in print as well as on phone about a no. of gifts from ITBC, but after completing the formalities, I never got any response. I also learnt about similar experience from some of my staffs who are as well ITBC members. The same can also be seen at consumer court website. I also received a package of 6 books today from ITBC through Blue Dart Courier (Dispatch No..4411, Godown -GMHR, Invoice No. CMA090000251BS) which I had never asked for.
