I had purchased a JVC 26" LCD TV on India Times Shopping web site. The seller TEKNIX supplied the TV which at first sight looked as if it was a shop's demonstration piece. The seller did not provide a valid sales invoice. I contacted the seller who assured me that there was no problem with the TV and it was covered under one year warranty. The TV developed problem within one month. I contacted the seller who asked me to get it repaired locally. As this was not possible, after two months he agreed to get it repaired at Mumbai and asked me to return the TV. I returned the TV. After several reminders, he returned the TV after three months. The TV was not properly repaired and developed same problems within a week. I informed India Times Shopping and requested that they intervene as the TV was purchased through them. They took their own time and transfered my complaint between various departments. Finally they put their hands up and wrote to me that the warranty period is over and I have to bear all the cost of repairing the TV. Mind you, all my complaints were put up during the warranty period. It is my opinion that India Times Shopping is favouring sellers and is also encouraging Grey Market sales.
