Denial of NOC to rent my flat.

I recently bought a resale flat because it is in the near by area where I reside but not in the same society.

Since it would lie vacant for a while we decided to give on rent.

When we were seeking No Obection Certificate (NOC) from the society. The secretary verbally assured to give the permission. Relying on the the word of the secreatry I carrried out the formality and gave the flat on rent to an individual who has moved in since two months now.

Every time I was approaching the Secretary and the Chairman, I was rudely sent back..without the written NOC for renting my flat.

I requested for a copy of the byelaws which the Society has still not given to me.

I turned to the internet for information on the bye laws of Maharashtra Cooperative housing Societies Act.

I realized that I have made a mistake.

I should have waited for the written NOC from society and then proceeded to give my flat on rent.

I had made several requests from the society office to give me a copy of the bye-laws but were not given to me.

Besides, since I insisted on the copy of the bye laws the committee members went through the bye laws of in a recent meeting. Now I have been informed that I cannot give my house on rent because I presently live nearby in another society.

Please advise me what should I do in this circumstance.
