Dear sir,

I would like to draw your kind attention that I have received the cheque of Rs.970.00 (SBI) which you have sent to me as refund of income tax.

In this connection, it is stated that the amount which should be refunded (as per submitted return of 09) is Rs. 1354.00 p. But, I received only Rs. 970.00 p.

The facts regarding the payable income tax and TDS are stated below.

1). Total tax payable as per Return submitted (acknowledgement sl.no.1441001973 dt. 01.08.2008) Rs. 209.00 p

2). Total tax deducted at source Rs. 1563.00 p

a) TDS from salary as per Form 16 issued by FA & CAO, South Eastern Railway, Garden Reach, Kolkata-700043 (TAN -CALA01026E) &- Rs. 1110.00 p.

b) TDS from interest as per Form 16A issued by Industrial Development Bank of India Ltd, IDBI Tower, Mumbai-400005 (TAN-MUMI00314G)&-Rs.453.00 p.

(Both the Form 16 and Form 16A were submitted in original along with the Return).

3). Total tax refundable Rs. 1354.00 p.

4). Tax refunded Rs. 970.00 p.

It is my earnest request to you to please examine the case and arrange to refund the balance amount which should be refunded accordingly. The copy of the submitted Return is enclosed herewith for ready reference.
