Dear sir.

on 6th Augurst I sent my 20yr old daughter alone to Trichy in SETC bus which started from Tuticorin. We chose the 01.30 PM bus. Actually it started at 2.00pm and we were told the running time would be 7 hours to reach Trichy. So we anticipated that it would reach at 9pm so that she can choose local bus to reach our relatives house in another 20 minutes from trichy. Actually the bus reached at 00.15 am that is 12 hours after departure from Tuticorin to Trichy. She got struck in the Bus stand at midnight. How can she move in Auto at that night? Actually it took 4hr 20mts to reach Madurai and 6hours from Madurai to Trichy. you can imagine the plight of a father who has sent her daughter to a city wih the belief that the running hours would be 7 hours as told by the driver before departure. we can accept an hour delay. The fact is that there was no breakdown, or traffic jam or anything like that. It is just that the bus was stopped in nearly 10 towns and wasted nearly 30 minutes in each small bus stand like kariapatti, thuvarankurichi viralimalai. actually the bus was going around each bus stand several times to add passengers. If I was told earlier that the running hours would be 10 hours plus to go to trichy from Tuticorin we would have avoided the travel. Just imagine the safety of lady passengers.

my complaint is that the 1, travel time was not clearly told . 2. there is an undue delay in the State transport corporation long distance bus, 3, Safety of the passengers are not considered rather collection bata is considered as priority. Public transport is appalling. please look into the matter and avoid serious problems happening in the future to the public.
