IPCL debentures

I have received a letter from IPCL about unclaimed amount. The debentures are jointly held by me and my brother. As my brother is residing out of india currently, i have not been able to take his sign on the same. folio no. - 189238.

Can i use the general power of attorney given by him to me and sign on his behalf at the back of the certifice and send it to you for claim.

Is it required to get the power of attorney attested or a copy will do?
