Issue of new passport

I had submitted application for issue of new passport on 14.8.2008 at Bhikaji camaplace, new Delhi office with registration No A032881. The status on net is the same for entire period. The status read as under;
Police verification has been waived and appliation is underway.
I would like to know when would i get my passport and whether it will lbe tendered through speed post or it can be received in person. I am planning to proceed on long leave.
