I have shifted my location in Nagpur which required me to change my gas agency. The new gas agency (Karuna Gas Agency) is having a monopoly over a large area of distribution and there are no other distributors to choose from. The agency forced me as precondition to accept transfer to buy a new gas connection pipe evenas the one I was using was new and standard, destroyed my old gas book and tried to force sell a plastic cover to keep my gas papers. Immediately after transfer before giving the first cylinder change it forced a mandatory check up at a fee of my gas stove even as the regular maintenance is being done. It insisted that I pay Rs 25 per delivery as a preferred time delivery charge or collect the cylinder from the agency. I was told that that the agency has done me a great favour by accepting the transfer and it is not under an obligation to do so. The cylinder cannot be booked on phone as the numbers are always busy. Today when I object to accept the delivery of a visibly badly damaged cylinder the delivery boy told me to collect one from the delivery van (i live on the 5 th floor). The agency does not accept the booking within 21 days of the last delivery even as it takes 10 to 15 days to deliver the cylinder. some person from the agency demanded service charge for prompt booking and delivery
