Kenstar Washing Machine
POOR SERVICE & CHEATING

We are using Kenstar washing machine [Model: LF2008] for the last 5 years, and the same break-down occurs every year. It is more than a month since the last break-down ocurred, and we had lodged the complaint with their local Service franchisee M/s Carridor Services, Supela, Bhilai.

After pursuing the matter for several days, their service person reported, had a visual look at the machine, and said that the belt had slackened / worn out. When the machine did not work after replacing the belt, he said timer / control card would need to be replaced. Finally, when the machine still did not work after replacement of the card as well, the service person told us that the motor has broken down.

We have been trying to bring to Co's attention time and again as to how these service personnel dupe and cheat unsuspecting consumers by declaring working parts as malfunctioning and suggesting their replacement without actually testing the machine / conmponent for actual problem. Further, they take the components from the consumer (which they have so declared as malfunctioning) by offering certain discounts on the replacement part cost / service charge. The removed component is subsequently offered to and fixed on another unsuspecting consumer’s machine. No wonder the service personnel never bring any component in original packing bearing original spare identification. They also never carry the Company’s price list for spare components / service charges, and invariably over-charge.

As a result we have several users of the same model in our immediate neighbourhood and friends circle who had this machine and have since replaced the machine with some other make.

Now the local service agency does not want to attend to our problem since this episode. We want the Co. to get the machine serviced. Since the machine is out of warranty, it is needless to add that the srevices shall be paid for.
