Shearing off the vertical rod

I am using a Khaitan ceiling fan no777970 170/230v 50hz hibreeze 1400mm sweep since past 12-15 years in my drawing room of my residence in Visakhapatnam. I am shocked to inform that today in the evening ie 3rd March at about 6pm the head portion of the fan along with the blades has fallen down suddenly after getting shearingoff the vertical rod at the top of the screw head. My wife has a miraculous escape as she is standing only about 2ft away. my mine concern in referring the problem to u now is to know the life of the fan and its main components and such information is not available to us on ur leaflets or elsewhere. Are we to replace other existing fans of Khaitan fans immdtly to avoid such instance in feture? pl respond and advise, regards, dvskrao cell 09440275117
