Lenvo 3000 g400 laptop

I bought lenovo g400 model a year ago. Recently the warranty ended and then the dvd drive was not reading some dvds. When i went to the support center, the person there told me that it will cost me 1200 INR to get it right. He did not even open the drive to check what was the problem. I came back home and cleaned it air blow and got it right. Is it worth asking for 1200 for just an air blow?
