Poor / non performance of the product

I have bought the above fridge from one of the Co-op stores inside DAE township, Kalpakkam on 7/9/08.

The inbuilt light of the fridge does not glow. After two days of plugging in, it has been discovered that the fridge does not cool to the requirement. The water stinks, if placed inside in a bottle, due to inadequate cooling. The service mechanic has come and instead of fixing the problem, has tried to make us believe that the temperature inside the fridge remains 30 degree centigrade. I have requested the stores manager to replace the machine, but instead doing the needful - has has been giving the verbal words only that it may be replaced. Why should I have a machine that does not work at the time of installation itself?
