Extra charges to my credit card

I ordered a memory for my computer in December. January billing on my credit card I have a $12.00 charge for a membership to reservations something, this I did not even order, so how can these companies just automatically sign you up to some membership and start charging your credit card monthly just because you bought something from them.? Oh they argue " you agreed to it, well I know for certain I did not agree to anything so stupid and only bought a memory card.
