Cutting back on maintenance

I used to travel 2/3 times a year with Qantas
twice to America, and once to Europe, on Business
Now I use the service only to United States
I am no longer confident re the maintenance, cutting back maintenance workers, sending maintenance work to be done in Asia, where it can not properly be vetted, and Geoff Dixen taking 12 million out of the system for his year's work, shows the worst side of capitalism, combined with greed.
It was always a sense of relief, when I picked up the flight back home on Qantas, after Spanish, Mexician and united States airlines.
Now I feel safer with Singapore airlines, and receive excellent and polite service
