Maruti Swift VXI
Manufacturing Defect

I purchased a Maruti Swift VXI from Rana Motors in Delhi 2 years back. Last week back back my car broke down and refused to start. It had to be towed away to the nearest service center where the mechanic diagnosed the problem as fault fuel pump. He further told that this part normally lasts the life of the engine and it breaking down in 2 years suggests some manufacturing defect. I called up anytime maruti and also wrote a mail to contact@maruti.co.in and register my complaint. However it is very difficult to get anyone to respond to the problem. Also since the warranty expired just a month back, the dealer and maruti authorised workshop have also refused to rectify the problem. Now this part costs 8-9 k and if there is a manufacturing defect, there is no guarantee and it will not break down in the future also. All I want from the company officials is to ascertain if it is a manufacturing defect or not. If not, I would bear all expenses from my pocket.
