SUB: Putting school children in harms way by doing illegal constructions at A-4 Janta Flats, Paschim Vihar.

Our education society is running a secondary school (BAL VIKAS PUBLIC SCHOOL.com) Block A-3, Paschim vihar, New delhi-110063. There are single room single floor DDA flats in front of the school (A-4, JANTA FLATS). A road is their in between our school and the DDA flats whose almost all residents have done illegal construction and not only constructed two addittion floors on top of their flats but have also covered half of the main road by their construction. SOME of the illegal constructions even involved shifting of the electricity poles from their place and we were shocked that how come the people incharge can tolerate such a crime. The road is continuously being used by our school children, their parents and residents to commute. Now only half of the road is left which again causes chaos regarding the parking and movement of residents cars.

Few days back one such building collapsed and 2 labourers were injured. We have been luckier that it was mid day and their were no school children in the vicinity. Regarding the same I have tried the local police station (paschim vihar), the MCD office (Rajouri Garden) and tried the local counceller (Mr. NAYYAR) aswell. The former 2 offices took the complaint and told us to wait but nothing happened even after giving them reminders, but it came to our notice that the counceller is keeping mum and supporting the residents for his own selfish reasons. We have tried to stop their construction many a times but whenever some officer comes up they bribed him and nothing changed. Police tells us to go to the MCD and MCD officers tell us to logged the complain and wait for action.

I request you kindly to please go through the matter very seriously as I have no hope left except complaining through this mode as no one else is listening and do inspect the location which will clear all doubts. I’ve always taught my children that “PREVENTION IS BETTER THEN CURE” Please don’t prove me wrong, it’s a matter of 500 school children if any one of them gets hurt then who‘ll be responsible.
