I like to register a complaint against ABN AMRO bank because the service which they provide to there costumer is really worst
I can say.. horrible.
I had taken Home loan from ABN AMRO bank kolkata, in Jan. The loan amount was disbursed partly. In August I
shifted to delhi.
1. In the year my EMI was increased from Rs. 8638/- to Rs. 9607/- due to rise in the interset rates.
In March I got calls from bank that I need to pay the difference amount of Rs. 969. I had paid the balance Rs. 969 for
the March month to an ABN AMRO BANK associate.
I had handed over four other cheques of Rs. 969/=, cheque nos. 351332 to 351335 to the associate for Apr to Aug.
But these cheques had been lost by the bank.
In the month of July again the EMI was increased to 10872. So for the month of July I had to pay a diff of another Rs. 1265
/- (10872 - 9607). And then bank person from ABN AMRO Bank, kolkata, asked me to pay the difference amount from April to
July, he had been asking for this from April month, but as I had already issued cheques, I sent him the scanned copy of the
receipt. But then he accepted that the cheques have been misplaced and as per his request I sent a cheque of Rs. 5141/-
(969/- * 4 = 3876 1265), chq no. 528065 thru courier to adjust all the amount from apr to jul.
And I was promised by him that no late fee will be charged as its the bank's mistake that they have lost the cheques.
In December I asked for the loan statement and I came to know that late fee had been charged in the month of Apr to
July.2007 . I have closed my H/L account and the bank proffessional have assured me that even if the account has been closed,
I will receive a cheque/ draft for the amount I am asking for, if any. I raised this issue to the bank, but its more than a
month I haven't received any reply from the bank.
2. For the month of Aug. a chq. of Rs 8638/ and another cheque of Rs. 10872/- chq. no. 528056 had been banked by the
bank making a surplus payment of Rs. 8638/- . I wrote this to the bank but I don't see any reversal for this. Instead there
is again late fee.
3. For the month of Sep. again there is a late fee, while I had handed over the cheques in the month of August
only. I had sent all the cheques to Kolkata bank thru courier.
AS this was the bank's mistake that they had lost the cheques, and Since I had sent the cheques in time, I shouldn't be fined
for this. The bank should bear this.
Also they should return me the EMI amount which has been banked twice in the month of Aug. 2007 along with the interest.
