Non receipt of PF amount

Sir/ madam,

I worked for the above mentioned company for four months, after i left my job I applied for my pf amount, I received my application back from the pf dept stating that i am not eligiable to claim the pf amount as my services to the said company is less than six months.

Could you explain to me the eligibility criteria to claim the pf amount.

Kindly advise me in this regards, waiting for your reply.
