Security should be increased in Metro stations

We are from India and yesterday was the worst day of our Madrid stay. We had entered in Metro train at SOL station and one person threw some coins knowingly on the floor. Then he started collecting them holding my husbands leg and the during that time some other person from back stole my husband's wallet. We lost 1000 Euros plus travel currency card and all the credit and debit cards along with driving license. All this happened around 10:00 pm. After this incident we are left with no cash. My husband was having this much cash because he was supposed to give this money as apartment rent. We asked few people about nearest police station but everyone told us some different location and we were searching for police station till 11:30 pm and finally came back helplessly.
