New Gas

Dear Sir / Madam,

I am residing in BTM Layout area of Bangalore from past two years and wish to apply for a new gas connection on my name. I am a salaried employe working in a Pvt Ltd Co.

When I go to apply for a new gas connection I am being forced to provide a Ration Card, which I do not have. Insted I have all other necessary documents including a passport with bangalore address.

When I went to my native-Jamshedpur, the local dealer showed me a letter from Indane, stating that one may provide any govt id no. like, PAN / Voter ID/passport etc & a valid adresss proof for a new connection.

Why are there diffrent standards of providing new connection at various locations? Can you pl. send me a confirmed list of minimum documents with which I may approcah the local dealer again?
