Charges I am not responsible fo

I mailed my check for the full amount due, in Nov. 2008. I got a Bill back saying you had returned the check and I was charged $35.00. After asking and asking, I got a manager who said they returned the check because they could not read one number on the bottom. I read him my account number and he said now he could see what it was. I do not know what happened to my check. All my numbers are clear and readable. have always paid on time. I now have charges which I do not feel are my fault. He took $15.00 off those $35.00 charges, so now you are charging me $20.00 for something I did not do and had no control over. Why didn't you just vall me and verify my account number? I think it is very unfaiur. I am on a fixed income, and cannot afford charges like this. I am not sure If I am paying you twice, even. Who is to say that you can not do this every month and keep adding $35.00 onto my bill. I think you should remove this charge. L. Antoinette Whitbeck
