Non-receipt of income tax pan card

I have applied online for income tax pan card through NSDL and paid Rs. 67.00 by cheque to HDFC bank on 05.3.09.The said cheque had been passed and they have issued me the acknowledgment number vide no.881010104818196 dt. 5.3.2009.As per their requirement, i had sent my photo, signature and necessary documents like self attested xerox copy of my ration card, xerox copy of my voter id card and xerox copy of my driving license to their Pune office on 5.3.09 through DTDC.On verifying my status of Pan Card in NSDL's portal, i had seen time and again that " your pan card application is under process". Subsequently i had communicated NSDL through several e.mail and they had replied me that there was a mistake in the application form which i had submitted online that no PREFIX is allowed in the application form and they had suugested me to apply afresh. The mistake was that i had prefixed the word LATE in the column where my father's name was to be written. I had tried to rectify the mistake online but the submission was denied. There after i had communicated the NSDL's Kolkata office and as per their version, nothing can be done and i have to apply afresh and another Rs. 94.00 is to be deposited for their cahrges. Under the circumstances, you are requested to please advise me as to how could i overcome such problem that i have faced in this regard.
