Mishandling by Packers & Movers

Sir,

I got shifted from Dehradun to Bhubaneswar on 20th August. Whole task was done by Agarsain Packers & Movers, Gurgaon. They mishandeled all the household, few got damaged.

Actually, at the time of booking the consignment I told them to tick the Transit Risk option but when they came to my home their executive did not ticked it by mistake... I was not able to find the fault since everybody was in hurry and I was nontechnical for these documents.

After shifting, when I recieved the consignment, many of the items were damaged. I mailed them the damage charged (around Rs. 8000/-) and requested them to compensate. Now the are saying that tyey will pay me just Rs. - as compensation since I did not opted for Transit Risk.

Could you please guide me about what to do with this issue...
