Receiving passport of my son

Respected Sir,

I am mother of Rehan Mansoor whose passport has been applied and is at the Post Office at Kuthiathode (the address given during applying). Presently I am told bed rest for one month due to knee injury. The officials at the Office are not handing the passport to my husband where in his passport has my name in it and he has also taken up my passport along. Will an authorization letter from my end hand over my baby's passport to his father? Below is the further details of the passport:
