Delay of passport delivery

Dear Sir,

I applied for a duplicate passport in Passport office, Madurai on 20/Nov/08. In the website the status saying that policae report has not been received. But I completed the police enquiry on 28/Nov/08 itself. I also enquired in Virudhunagar Distract SP office, officials said that they have sent the report to Passport office, Madurai on 4/Dec/08 itself. I asked for Speedpost reference number from them and verified with Postoffice, they said that it was delivered to Passport office, Madurai on 5/Dec/08 itself.

I want to know the status of application and the expected of date of delivery.

Previously I was denied to apply for the duplicate passport in TATKAL scheme. Passport officials told me that duplicate of damaged passport can't taken under TATKAL scheme. But in the website its saying TATKAL scheme is allowed for damaged/lost passport. I want to know which one is correct.

I am a Banking consultant, travalling abroad often. Because of delay in my passport delivery I am loosing many of my business.

Kindly make note of my complaint and take necessary action to deliver my passport at the earliest.
