THE Passport office

It is again the same stinking people and the system at new passport office Koramangala. While I wasted my time waiting for my turn against an online appointment, I listed these improvements point that any stupid on the earth could make.

The Fish Market:

• There are 8 posh counters with no display of the Service being provided or the Number that help people in sequencing.

• Off the 8 modern counters only 2-3 is functional.

• Glasses in the counter don’t enable the voiced interaction. Too high for an average Indian height.

• The so called ‘Document Verification Counter’ service is no where mentioned in the website instructions. It’s all a mess with the cattle breeder at the counter.

• The Document Verification person sends back the people the moment he finds a mistake, not even looking at rest of the sheets. If your application has 5 mistakes you are lucky if you could clear with him before 5 attempts, which otherwise will take 5 different days.

• A “Non-Gentle” lady says my name would be printed in the Passport, exactly the way I entered it in the on-line appointment form. If so, Please scrap the 4 page Application Form.

• There are no instructions / guidelines displayed in the entire vicinity. Its again another person-dependent system.

• Please make different Application forms for different services (New Passport, Correction In Name, Update to the Marital status, etc., May be with a different colors for easy identification) to get away with never ending confusions.

(I don’t think any one in the world could fill your application form with no one’s help, including YOU. Look at the complexity of your so called forms. :D)

The Government (People) Servants:

• Staffs enter the office at 10.30 and scream at the cost of people’s time.

• Counter that collects the money is no audible without a mike. Another person in the counter screams louder than a mike.

• A Non Kannada (Probably Marati) speaking lady yells at people, while she forgets that she is not doing a FREE service.

Use (less) Technology:

• The website is sick and there is no trace of a professional look.

• The Online appointment feature in the website works only during the office hours. (This could be the height of stupidity: D)

• Website does not depict the correct documents required. The ‘Personal Identification form’ is manually issued and is not made available in the website.

• The Passport dispatch status has some 3 junk statuses to switch among and do not convey any real time message

OUTside:

• Parking fee is 10/- for a two wheeler which is equivalent to Shopping hub at Forum Mall with no trace of a tree or a shade.

• By the way your toilets are clean and you have kept water for drinking that make me feel that people live here.

Final Words

• My gentle advice is to bring your team to some private firm and see how to treat a “Customer”. Please Train your people to treat people as PEOPLE and value other’s time as theirs. Else EXPECT them to treat you the SAME way.
