Unrecognised Bus service

I was traveling to Baroda due to some official work. i was traveling in night time so i booked ticket for sleeper coach Volvo of Patel travels. My journey was start on 13th Sep. 2011 from Pune at 8:30 pm. Actually bus leaves city by 9:30 pm. when they count passengers for accommodation of berth. The same was 17 persons in the same bus. Driver & co-driver stops the Bus in midway to Mumbai at Khandala Ghat & told us that they are shifting us to another semi-sleeper bus. When we all ask them that we paid for sleeper coach, so why should we shift to another bus (for which ticket rate is lower than sleeper Valvo). Their answer was if you want to travel to Baroda then you have to shift or else we left you here, you arrange your transportation at your own. That was night time and the stopped the bus at such a remote place where we couldn't arrange the alternative. We didn't have choice unless to listen them. When we ask them for refund of money that we paid more than it was, their told us we can't do anything for you, if you want to lodge a complaint then you can.

What will one can do when they come to such s ridiculous situation. And how will one recognize that they are traveling with good travel company. My suggestion to all of my friends please ensure your traveling convenience & safety before you are using with such a rubbish service.
