Getting unwanted calls

I am a customer of airtel, availing its service at ranchi. one problem which i generally face is that a lot of call comes in my mobile from unknown number. needless to say, these calls made by persons are so vulgar which becomes untolerable. because of this, i changed my no. three times. i would be so greatful to you if you will please reply me with suitable steps which i can take to avoid this type of calls.
