My customer id is 3000803038. I was a satisfied customer of Airtel Digital TV but in the last 3 weeks they have tested my patience completely with their fault full service and extreme lack of response. I am ready to trash my Airtel digital receiver and dish – I just wish I could throw it in an Airtel outlet.

The issue started when I put a request to transfer my connection from Bangalore to Pune around June 22. It took couple of calls for the request to be actually registered by them. Airtel wanted 2 complaints to be made – 1 for de-installing the dish in Bangalore and another for reinstalling the dish in Pune. Finally after 3 calls to the Airtel person, he came and uninstalled the dish. We arrived in Pune and I called the customer service to ask them to reinstall the dish. The call kept dropping just when I would finish explaining the need – this happened on 3 occasions. On June 29, I got through and was told that my reinstallation request can not be accepted as my connection itself has been deactivated. The customer service rep said that I should not have asked for the service to be deactivated, which I had originally never asked. So he said I need to first put a complaint on the service to reactivated. The ‘SLA’ for this is 24 hours and post this I need to call AGAIN and put a complaint for the reinstallation to be done at the Pune residence. This SLA took 3 days to be met (as per SMS received, I have no means of checking whether the service is really active). My follow up calls were met with the most lackadaisical attitude. On the third day, I was able to speak to a supervisor who confirmed that the SLA had been slipped and the services would be reactivated on July 3. He also agreed that he would take the reinstallation request at that time itself since I had made multiple calls already. I was assigned reference no. of 3201933.

Now is the best part – on July 3, I get a call from an Airtel person who is repeatedly asking my address causing me to lose my cool. Finally I understood that the Airtel person was from Bangalore and was searching for my PUNE address in BANGALORE. I immediately called the customer service and told them of the error they had made and they confirmed that the person would reach my residence on the same day – July 3, 5pm. Today is July 7 and I am exasperated that no one has bothered to do a call back and come back to set this up. I do feel like breaking that dish in multiple pieces. This is horrendous service.

Also – the Pune no. that I dial seems to have an acute shortage of English speaking agents. Even though I select English as the language I have been consistently getting Hindi speaking agents who mouth that they would be doing sahayta but am afraid they are unable to even acknowledge that their service is all screwed up.
