Hopeless customercare

I'm using Airtel GPRS for the last one year on my PC and now I wanted to use it on my cell. For this purpose I bought a SEGAM E-90 and tried to access Internet but failed. When I contacted the gprs customercare at 12121 on 21/5 at 8.05 pm the person kept me on hold till 8.11 pm and disconnected without any solutions. I called 12121 again at 8.12 pm and the lady attending my call suggested me to contact personally the nearest Airtel Office to solve the problem which is about 50 kms from my place. What is wrong with Airtel GPRS? Why there are these non technical persons in the customercare?
