I have taken an Airtel Mobile Connection (Pre-Paid) bearing number 9730859851 during the month of July from Nasik after duly submitting all the required documents as prescribed by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India.

I had received verification calls from Airtel and have provided the details as required by the Verification Agency. Later I received a string of SMS from Airtel on 5.8. 6.8. 7.8. asking me to resubmit the required documents stating that my verification has been unsuccessful. Although I had taken the trouble to resubmit the documents, the Airtel services to my number were cut for almost a week. I am not a native of Nasik and am facing problems in accessing the Airtel Relationship Center too. After persistently requesting the sales agency from where I had bought the SIM, my services were restored.

On 21.8. I received an SMS from Airtel saying I would receive a verification call. I did receive the verification call and provided the required details. Again on 25.8. I received an SMS from Airtel saying I would receive a verification call. This time too, I received the verification call and provided the required details.

Yesterday, 16.10. I received an SMS yet again saying that my verification has been unsuccessful and that I am required to resubmit the documents another time. I had contacted the Customer Care at 1600 hours (Mr. Praveen) again to report the difficulties I am facing. But I was told to resubmit my documents to ensure uninterrupted service.

I am constantly put at unease by the SMS and verification call from Airtel. Also at this juncture, I would like to mention that Airtel has been activating Chat and other services that I have not subscribed to and charging tariff from my talk-time balance for the services I have never used nor intended to use. Constant follow up ensured that the amount debited from my balance was credited. After verifying with the Customer care officer, I had also sent an SMS to activate “Do not Disturb” to which I had received an SMS stating “You have not been registered in NDNC category”. I have been receiving promotional calls and SMS which are unwarranted.

I had even bought a Reliance Mobile Connection owing to the fact that I am constantly troubled by Airtel and its services. Also adequate Airtel network coverage is not available in certain areas and most acquaintances have reported that my number is unreachable most of the time.

I still am retaining the Airtel Connection since I have given this number to innumerable friends and acquaintances of mine, most whom are in South India and abroad and it would be hard to retrace and provide another new number to everybody.

I am thoroughly traumatized and disturbed by the services of Airtel.

I hereby request you to provide respite from these troubles I have been facing. I would be most grateful if the services are set right.
