I had purchased an Airtel post paid connection in Jan 09. They had verified my address by calling my other contact number and also visiting my residence. My connection was never activated.
In Mar I was surprised to receive a bill of about Rs 150/- for services I never used or infact never activated. Whenenver I call up the customer service number 121, they say that the address verification is pending and I need to visit a nearest customer relationship centre. Whenever a complaint is lodged the reply is that some one will get back within 24 hrs, however if 24 years pay by i will not receive a call from Airtel.
Couple of things to be noted.
1) When a person had visited for verification why does their system say verification pending.
2) When the number has not been activated, why the bill?
When asked for a refund of the deposit money they say that it has been adjusted in the bill.
If this is the attitude even before getting a customer, i wonder what is the treatment metted out to existing customers. They are nothing but cheats.
