Wrong internet charges

This is the complaint sent to Airtel Nodel officer, Delhi:
Hi,
I am using Airtel mobile (9971108487) for almost 1.5 years now.
Earlier i was using Airtel Live for internet on my handset however to save
on surfing charges, during the month of March i requested for
activating Rs. 99 GPRS plan on my number.
The same was activated in due course of time and i got in touch with
customer care people at 12118 for GPRS settings.
They informed me about the settings and i did the same actions and started
surfing.
However when bill dated April 04 was generated i surprised after
looking at internet usage charges of about Rs. 1454.20 (excluding service
tax) which according to my GPRS plan (Rs. 99 plan) the charges need to be
only Rs. 177.
I am contacting on customer care since than and has been informed that i
was using internet through Airtel Live not GPRS thus charges are high. This
was due to my handset has some different settings which 12118 executive did
not know and he informed me wrongly. They also gave me assurance for
resolving the same in 48 hours and those 48 hours are still running from
April 07 to till date.
I am simply requesting you to explain me my mistake in this and why should
i be penalized by almost Rs, 1400 (including service tax). Also, they are
offering me Rs. 250 discount in next bill against my loss of almost Rs.
1400.

This is with reference to your email dated 12 May regarding your Airtel Mobile Number 9971108487.
We would like to inform you that the charges lived in your account are valid as you have browsed through Airtel Live services and not through Airtel GPRS. Therefore, we regret the infeasibility to reverse the amount.
We hope this information helps.
This was already explained to me on phone also and nothing different.
