Airtel Prepaid
Charged without activating the services

I have been using the airtel prepaid service. On 31st July night I had a balance of about Rs.195-200. In the morning when I get up, I see that all my balance has vanished. I saw some 37 sms on my cell saying that I had been subscribed for some stupid services and the charges has been deducted from my account. There were lot os sms services like seduction tips, beauty tips, news, prayers and so on. All these services were activated while I was sleeping and without me activating them. So in the morning I called up and complained to the airtel customer care...(to explain them the problem is first of all a hell... all dumb people, with some exceptions). SO I asked them to first of all deactivate all these stupid services and credit back my balance.

But everything fell on deaf ears. Through out the day, I was getting continuous msgs and infact was also getting charged for some of them. SO I had to call them again and despite this still the same.

Next day I called up again and talked to some so called sr. executive names Ms. Rashmi. She told me that she wud deactivate the services immediately and credit back Rs.150. Now she did credit Rs.150 to my account but no deactivation. As a result again I was charged for some services and the messages were still coming. SO again I had to call them and finally the services were deactivated. But at the same time, they again debited me for Rs.150 saying that they cannot credit the balance to me.

Since that day I have been almost calling the customer care daily as well as sending mails to the nodal officer, but the issue has not been solved for the last 18 days. In the beginningthey told me that unless I activate the service, they do not charge. So i told them that if I had activated them, then show me the proof. They should have some confirmation sms or phone call or mail sent by me to activate it. After I asked them to give me the proof, there is no response from airtel.

Now a days, every time I call them, they tell me that we will credit your balance within 24 hours. I suppose, airtel has found out a new way of making extra money by charging the customers for the services they are not using.

I would suggest that do not go for airtel mobiles. They are good only till you do not face any problems. Once you have some issues with their service, they do not care and give a damn to the customers.
