Disconnection of prepaid service without prior notice

My cell number bearing airtel prepaid connection 9901988725 got disconnected without prior notice by the company. When approached to the Airtel Customer Care and Local Airtel Center, i got reply that my cell number registration had been cancelled. My number still has Rs. 160/ in its prepaid balance. When i asked Airtel people to refund that amount, i got the reply that company could do nothing in that regard. Hence i want Airtel people to look into this matter and check what they can do to solve this out, or else i have to approach consumer forum to readdress my complaint.
