The Wine Shop's in Coimbatore sell their products to customers about Rs. 3 - 5 over the price marked on the product. Though wine shops are now under the government control; the prices and quality of service have gone down.

All bottles of beer are sold about Rs. 4 - 5 over the price marked on the bottle.

Situation - One bottle of Kingfisher beer costs Rs. 61/- However, the customer has to pay Rs. 65/- for the product. Though this amount may look small in comparison, assume the custome buys about 20 bottles a month - He would then effectively pay Rs. 80/- more than that he is supposed to pay.

This is the plight of one customer. However, the wine shop will sell on average around 1500 bottles of various brands a day thus stealing on average Rs. 6000/- per day from the average customers.

This is the situation in Coimbatore to my knowledge and this practice is followed by all the wine shops in Coimbatore. If this goes unchecked, a large number of customers will get affected in the long run.
