Sir/Madam Date:29 June
I'm a student of Ansal Institute of Technology, Gurgaon, Haryana pursuing international course 1st year (Freshman). residing in college campus, Aravalli Hostel.
As per the norms, 4 students in 2 rooms (2 student in 1 room) and these 2 rooms share a common 1 centralized AC (Air conditioner) of 5 tonne. But during the last month ie in the month of May 08, 2 students from our both 2 rooms ie (1 student from my room and another student from next room) were on leave for 3 and half months ie (from May to Mid August). Now only 2 of us left and we share a common centralized AC which consumes 6.5 to 7.5 units in one hour because its of 5 tonne rather than 1.5 or 2 tonne (normal window/split ACs) which are fitted in other rooms, and as our college charges 7 rupees per unit, that means if we switch on our AC for only 3 hours in such a hot and humid day we were charged around Rs. 45.5 to Rs. 52.5 in one hour and for 3 hours it costs us Rs. 136.5 to Rs. 157.5, and for 1 month total comes out to be Rs. 4095 to Rs. 4725 which is divided by only 2 of us students for one month.
Do you think it is appropriate for the student who is alone or for 2 students sharing such a huge bill.
Previously it was shared by 4 of us students but now it is shared by only 2 of us.
Is there any alternative for such a problem or we have to just pay such huge bills for AC which is running just for 2-3 hours a day.
