Apartment being broken as part of road expansion

Hello,

I have purchased an apartment last year. Now I see that the road in front of my apartment is being expanded and half of my home will be demolished. What are the options that I have? Can I hold the builder responsible as he would have known about the expansion priorly and still did not leave enought space in the front. kindly advice me on the same.
