BESCOM, Bangalore
Disconnection of power by force

Politics & Government

RR No. RNHTMGD19, Beside ISRO, Byalalu, Mysore road, Bangalore.

Bescom has cut the power supply to our industrial unit on directions from chikkanahalli gram panchayat stating that we have not paid license fee to chikkanahalli gram panchayat where they are demanding rs.250 per hp on our power connection. There are no provisions to collect such fees under gram panchayat law, still the gram panchayat is insistin that we should pay that amount every year. (Total per year 321x250=80250rs) we took objection to pay this amount as it is not justified and too much. So gram panchayath has directed bescom to cut the power to our unit as we are not ready to pay this amount. This has resulted in huge production loss and we are unable to run the industry. The karnataka government has to support industry in every way possible. But in this case, the chikkanahalli gram panchayat is extorting money from helpless industries. They have also stated that they are above supreme court and they can collect whatever amount they feel is right. I want to know if this is the case?? Is there nobody to question these gram panchayath and bescom officials?? I request that justice be done in this case and the power restored immediately. Ee, nelamangala and aee, magadi says they are helpless and are disconnecting the power due to pressure from "higher ups" in gram panchayath... I feel disgusted that I am born in india and I am not at all proud of any politician/Government authorites because I am fed up of paying bribes and corruption. This is out right harrasment.
