Overbilling for water charges

Dear Sir/Madam,

We have recieived a bill amount of Rs 4110.00 for our water charges for the month of January which seems absolutely incredible. When we contacted the local authority (BWSSB) for this, we were told to replace the water meter design from the existing design to a U shaped design. This we are willing to do, but is there anyway the bill of 4110.00 be challenged?

We did ask the incharge to consider this bill and reduce teh amount, but they seem very strict about this being paid, however they have given an option to pay in installments, but my concern is there is no way that we could have footed such a huge bill for a month. We are a family of 6 members.

So, kindly help with this regard.
