Callous attitude of the BWSSB members

The BWSSB issued a notice/statement in leading newspapers that there was an issue with the pumping stations and hence would not be able to supply water. We understand this, but this evening, when we went to the Kalyannagar over head water tank for just 2 pots of water to help us through till morning, the person at the gate shooed us away stating he will not open the gate nor give water and asked us to come in the morning. We went to the ground level reservoir near Nagawara junction (Ring road) and a woman told us the same.

We understand the BWSSB could not supply water, but can't they even provide a few pots of water to people who had come to them carrying pots. We do not understand the logic of being asked to come in the morning/during daytime, when we need water at night. Moreover, we are not working in any Govt establishment, to easily shirk work and loaf around, we have have to go to work too.

As citizens, don't we have the right to get atleast 2 pots of water for a family of four??? That too, when their salaries come from the taxpayers' money, our blood and sweat.
