Harassment for Wate

WATER PROBLEM and HARASSMENT of 2 SINGLE LADIES living alone with one child.

Dear Sir,

We live in GHB flats now having private ownership. Municipality water supply comes into one underground well between 2 flats. Motor is used to transport this water to 2 flats on each side of well. Each flat has 2 overhead tanks on the terrace. Each tank has individual lines supplying water to 8 houses. In our flat 15 houses enjoy abundant water, but we are left with drops of water.

Since last 15-20 days we were facing acute water scarcity. We have repeatedly approached flat association with our problem. But they are not supportive. Flat Association In charge said it is your personal problem; we cannot do anything about it.

I approached AMC with my problem. They say their responsibility ends when the water supply reaches the common well. After that it is Flat Association’s responsibility. I even asked them if we could take a direct line from the municipality well. What is the process? They said it is not possible / not allowed, they can only supply water to flat, and individual houses cannot take direct connection. AMC Officials said it is your personal problem; we cannot do anything about it.

We are only 2 ladies living alone. The other people in the flat are trying to harass us purposely by creating blockages in our pipeline. They threaten us with ugly consequences if we do anything at the water tank on the terrace. We regularly pay our house tax and water tax. Kindly advise and help solve our problem.

On 24th October we lowered the level of our pipeline water connection at the terrace tank, now we get water, but the flat association in-charge threatens us saying he will block our line - do something to make sure that we do not get water. Since 24th October onwards, he has been regularly threatening us in our own home with ugly consequences. Kindly help us.

We have also filed a complaint with the Naranpura Police station. The Police say they can only address the harassment part, not the water problem. Police Officials said it is AMC or association problem, we cannot do anything about it.

Our need is adequate water for 3 people and security with peace of mind and body; nobody should harass or threaten us. It is not possible for me to sit on the terrace 24 hours to keep a watch on the terrace tank and our water connection line from that tank. I am a working woman and a single parent, with an aged widowed mother.

Whom should we approach for proper solution of this problem?
