Indian Speed Post
Item not delivered and lost in transit

I booked a package item (Mobile phone) through India Speed Post tracking number EP024746945IN which was to be shipped to Kundapura, UDUPI Distt. Karnataka. I sent it on 7 March. While tracking the status online on 12 March, i noticed that the transit is still showing it to be in Bangalore and the status was stuck on 9 March and it is still the same even today. I called up the Bangalore post office to ask if they could help but they simply refuse saying that the mobile phones are not to be sent through Speed Post, if thats the case, why did they accept it while booking.

Moreover, they said you will get double the money back of what you paid for the Booking of Speed post. Phone was not too costly but it was still worth 1400 and they charged me 80 rupees for shipping.

What do i need to do against this to claim my value for the lost phone.
